Abstract: As we know during cutting action the cutting tool is subjected to wear (Flank and Cater wear) and enormous heat is generated at the tool chip interface, ultimately decreasing the tool life and leading to its failure. Commonly used cutting tool is High Speed Steel tool. This paper shows a significant improvement in the Mechanical properties of the HSS tool after Cryogenic treatment at –80C in comparison with non-Cryogenically treated HSS tool
